Nokia N97

Last week I made an impulsive purchase and boy, I’m so glad that I did because Nokia N97 blew me away totally. I was contemplating to get HTC Touch Pro 2 but decided on N97 because I wanted to give Nokia a chance. My last phone was a HTC Dual and it sucked horribly. Interestingly, I didn’t know that N97 was such a new phone until I googled more on the phone. No wonder the ah beng sales man looked at me with such envy.

One of the key features that impressed me pretty much was that I am able to personalise my home screen with customised applications or online feeds. Think of iGoogle. Another impressive feature will be it’s internal memory of 32GB and a memory card slot up to 16GB. This means that the phone can double up as a mini-netbook which you can use it for work documents, music, videos, surfing, gaming, etc. The phone is also packed with pretty good features such as a sliding qwerty keyboard, 3.5″ wide screen, GPS and a 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics.

The only disadvantage is that it doesn’t come with a good office editing suite and the applications in Ovi Store doesn’t seem to be as cheap as those for iPhone. Otherwise, this phone is a pretty good deal and I’m looking forward to the new features and applications that Nokia plans to roll out in the second half of the year.

N97 is good! I played with it once. It is responsive, the only complain I have with it is the lack of MultiTouch.

Should get the iphone 3GS when it is out next month

For me, the most exicting part of the N97 is side-slding mechanism, the sliding action is smooth and sound. The Full QWERTY keyboard is also a great help as i am a heave text messager. As to the drawbacks, i totally agree with you, there lacks editing options for office documents, which is a big inconvenience for me.

I’ve not come across a really good office suite yet. How about you?
