Wild Grass

It looks just like wild grass. Dull colors, messy and uninteresting lines. Wu Guanzhong wrote, “I envy wild grass because they want nothing and live in freedom. They are oblivious to the elements and change of seasons.

I looked at it again. This time, I saw the beauty that shone behind those words. The power of perception.

Wu Guanzhong’s donation of 113 works is at Singapore Art Museum from 9th April to 16th August 2009.
