Re-examine II
With the news of my cousin being diagnosed of Myasthenia gravis, there was nothing but devastation that I felt. I’m once again reminded of the cruelty and fragility of life. It is apparent that our lives are just part of a greater whole and we survived because our work in this world is not finished and our time is not up yet. One second you’re kicking and the next, you’re diagnosed with some weird disease. Imagine you have no complete control about your future and your quality of life being ruined. If there is a lesson to be learnt, I’m sure it is to do better with the lives we have been given in honour of the lives that have been taken.
Facing my own mortality, I think it is very important to take time to consider and evaluate my life to make sure it is as balanced and fulfilling as it can be. I regret to say that I have not been very responsible for my own health despite all that had happened. From this second onwards, I’m very determined to re-examine my life so that I have the ability to focus on all the other things that matter in life without being dragged down by worrying about, or having life stopped too soon due to illness.

I’m so sorry to hear about your cousin’s diagnosis. I too suffer from Myasthenia Gravis. I wish, like you I stopped sooner to evaluate my health and stresslevels. I was a Pilates instructor before my diagnosis and I thought I was leading a “healthy” active life… but the stress etc still let me down.
